Authentics 由 Hansjerg Maier-Aichen 于 1981 年创立，利用半透明的聚丙烯制造家庭用品，厨房用品为其一成功商品。Authentics 无疑引领了聚丙烯小型家用品的流行。
Authentics 简单好用的设计，特别是合理的价格，让它一推出就广受市场欢迎。直到 1997 年 Matthew Hilton 设计了 Wait Chair，Authentics 才算是踏入了家具产品。
而品牌创立至今，成功的关键在于结合设计师团队提供的智慧构想与最新材料的研发，网罗许多新现代风格的设计师，例如： Konstantin Grcic、Stefan Diez、Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby、Tord Boontje、Ed Annink 等。产品系列曾经得到许多奖项，包含 Red Dot Award、IF Design Award 与 Design Plus Award 等。
Authentics 于 2001 年卖给德国家具品牌 Flötotto，但仍保有原 Authentics 品牌名。
